This survey gives a feedback to teachers' superiors to see if there is enough basis for some faculty members to be promoted to a higher position in the academe. If the teacher is found to lack knowledge or mastery of his subject, the superior can then decide if this faculty member should continue to teach or be asked to work on perfecting his teaching skills.
