Quality of education in Mexico City

They were middle class, obviously not poor but who am I going to beleive the Mexicans, who acknowldged corruption, inequality, and poverty in their country, LIVING IN MEXICO. Which I beleive the article is about, Mexicans in Mexico, no? Or the supposive California teacher who after teaching 20 years in the barrio has yet to encountered one student who speaks English.What school district in Southern California do you teach at? I'm going to LA in a week for a buisness trip, I know Spanish and have no problem visiting the "barrios". I'll see for myself if there are indeed any kids like that, because in front of the High School I was talking about, there is a school with mostly Hispanic lower income kids and we have a co-op effort where kids from the H.S help the elementary students. Now what I saw in a tiny library room were kids before school trying to learn English. Now that shows you, something is wrong with teachers in California. Fantasy land? What fantasyland? From my previous post:"I was speaking to the kids from Mexico, who speak English, they said the problems are the following:1.Teachers are paid little, including the ones who have studied in the US and Europe.2.The south of Mexico is neglected forgotten, in contrast to the northern region.3. There are public schools in Mexico where they actually teach the majority of their classes in English; and where a second language is required for graduation; however these are unique schools created by the cities. And the federal gov. has not noticed and invested more, in order to provide everyone with these type of schools, not only the few. "And even if some parents say its hard for their kids to learn English, then HELLO WAKE UP. Its the parents talking to you TEACHER. Something is obviously wrong, its hard. There are several problems in the US educational system, or have you been living in a fantasyland "teacher"? You are like our government, when it comes to the real issues, you side track, find a scapegoat, and continue living in your fantasyland.
